Pet Boarding Policy
Please familiarize yourself with our Pet Boarding Policy before your pet’s stay with us to ensure a smooth and stress-free visit.
Our Boarding Policy
Vaccination Policy
Cats must be current on Rabies and FVRCP vaccines.
Dogs must be current on DAPP, Inuenzia, Bordetella Intranasal, and Rabies vaccines.
It is the owner’s responsibility to provide updated vaccine information to our facility within 48 hours of scheduling your pet’s stay. Failing to do so may result in your pet’s reservation being cancelled and/or prevent them from boarding with us. Please email vaccine records to atwatervet@gmail.com or text them to (209) 358-6000.
The vaccine series must be completed, and at least 2 weeks’ time must have passed since the last vaccine, in order to board. We do not accept home-given vaccines.
Feeding and Medication Policy
Feeding Fee: If you do not bring and label your own food, an additional feeding fee will be charged per day.
Rabbit, Rodent, and Weasel boarders must provide their own food.
*Your pet’s food must be labeled with your pet’s name and your last name listed on our file.
Additional fees for the administration of medications and/or supplements are charged per day. If we are unable to administer medication to your pet over the weekend/Holiday due to aggressiveness or noncooperation, an On-Call Veterinary Technician will be called in to medicate your pet; an additional fee will be applied each time the technician must be called in.
Check-In and Check-Out Policy
Check-In/Check-Out Times: Monday – Friday: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
*Late check-out will be charged an additional full day of boarding per pet.
*If we feel your pet is not doing well, an exam may be performed. Examination fees are at the owners’ expense.
*If we feel your pet is aggressive and it is deemed unsafe for our staff to care for them, we will attempt to contact you to arrange for your pet to be picked up. Additional fees will occur if you are unable to arrange for your pet to be picked up within 2 hours of attempted contact.
Please be aware that the stress of boarding may put your pet at a higher risk of disease, illness, or aggravation. Due to the risk of aggravation, we no longer offer boarding house mates together; if you wish to have your pets walked together, please inform us at check-in.
Additional Health & Safety Policies
During their stay with us, your pet may be exposed to a different diet, temperature, and humidity than their home environment. They may also be more vocal in a kennel setting than at home. These changes in environment can create problems such as sore throat, tonsillitis, or diarrhea.
Transmission of contagious disease is a possibility at any kennel. Despite our best efforts to avoid transmission, boarding pets can acquire contagious diseases. Owners must be aware of this risk and assume responsibility for any medical expenses.
All personal items are left at the owner’s risk. Please limit items to two per boarder and label all items with a permanent marker. We cannot be held responsible for damaged or lost items.
We are unable to release any pets outside of our normal business hours. If you are unable to drop off or pick up during the above designated times, please let our staff know when you are checking in for boarding.
Thank you for entrusting us with the care of your pet in your absence.
